What we see in Mount Kynoch

Mount Kynoch is one of those suburbs where the houses look brand new but you'd be surprised what you find once you start poking around. A lot of the homes out here in the Hursley Road estates came out of the ground in the 2010s, and while they meet the basics, builders tend to do exactly the minimum required. I've pulled up to jobs where smoke alarms weren't interconnected the way they should be, or wiring just doesn't quite line up with what the plans say. It's not always shoddy work — sometimes it's just stuff that gets missed when a crew is pushing through 20 houses at once.

What homeowners here quickly realise is that a standard builder's fit-out doesn't really suit how people actually live. You move in and within six months you're running extension cords because there's just not enough points in the right spots. The roofs out here are also well-suited to solar, which is why I do a fair bit of work up on those newer tiled and Colorbond roofs. The views from up there toward the Mount Kynoch lookout aren't bad either, I'll admit.
